Manitou Springs Attractions

We are a year round destination with world-class attractions and events and a long history as a national resort destination. See for yourself why Emma Crawford fell in love with Manitou Springs.

Mineral Springs

The plentiful natural cold-water mineral springs in the area were instrumental in the founding of Manitou Springs. The city developed around the springs to become a resort destination known as "the Saratoga of the West" due to the healing waters said to help cure a number of illnesses and ailments.

Come try the water at our seven restored mineral springs, conveniently located in our historic downtown.

The Manitou Incline

At the foot of Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs has more than its fair share of natural attractions and outdoor adventures. Famous for its cog incline railways, one abandoned track up the face of Mt. Manitou has been converted into a grueling mile-long hike up the steep mountainside.

Known as the Manitou Incline, be warned: this hike is for serious individuals only. Keep an eye on weather conditions, wear proper footwear, and bring plenty of water. While rescue teams in town are ready to help in the case of an emergency, hikers should only begin if they are confident they can complete the hike.

Shopping & Dining Destination

With all our natural beauty, we're still more than just a pretty face.

Manitou Springs has a diverse offering of shopping and dining. Whether your heart (or your taste-buds) are set on authentic Colorado Cuisine, fine continental dining, or delicious vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, Manitou Springs has something to meet everyone's tastes.

With dozens of independent and locally-owned stores and galleries, you are sure to find the perfect gift for you or your loved ones. Come explore the shops in our walkable and historic downtown to find something truly unique.
